Pool pair repay manager’s belief

LIVERPOOL manager Rafael Benitez believes Craig Bellamy and Jermaine Pennant are finally starting to show the form which persuaded him to spend nearly £13 million (€19m) on the pair in the summer.

Wales striker Bellamy began the season disappointingly, but since he was cleared recently of assaulting two women he has looked much more like the player who scored 15 times last season.

Likewise, Pennant has had a frustrating first five months at Anfield and many critics questioned whether his £6.7m transfer was money well spent by Benitez.
