WATFORD manager Adrian Boothroyd would like to “scrap” the January transfer window to aid his team’s fight for Premiership survival.

The Hornets have won only one of their opening 14 matches and are 19th in the table, four points adrift of safety, ahead of Monday’s match at Manchester City.

The absence of key players like goalkeeper Ben Foster and forward Marlon King has hampered Boothroyd — and he believes the restrictions imposed on transfer dealings creates further difficulties for Watford.
