FORMER Portsmouth striker Dario Silva is ready to build a new life after having part of his leg amputated, following a car accident.

The former Uruguay striker has been in a Montevideo hospital since the early hours of September 24, when he was badly injured after losing control of his car and hitting a column of street lights.

The ex-Cagliari and Malaga frontman spoke for the first time about his ordeal on Italian TV.
