I THOUGHT it might just be me but a correspondent on the excellent ‘Football 365’ website has also noticed that there appears to have been an explosion in the daddy long legs population.

Doubtless, Derek Mooney could supply us with a proper explanation but I like Piers Stanger’s take on the phenomenon: “It’s obviously nature’s tribute to the Crouchinator.” He further points out that between Agger’s thunderbolt, Alonso from the halfway line and now the Scissors Brother himself, Liverpool already seem to have the goals of the season pretty well sown up.
