The summer signing from Real Madrid made two costly errors which were punished by the home side in the Group F opener.

First the 30-year-old was robbed by Michael Carrick before Louis Saha scored the second of his two goals and then he gave the ball away to Paul Scholes, who set up Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s winner.
