Naismith’s late penalty earnsKillies a point
Kris Boyd had returned to haunt his former club when he grabbed a double for Rangers, and they looked set to hold on for the win despite Frazer Wright netting for Killie.
But the Ibrox club were denied the chance to go a point clear of both Celtic and Hearts at the top of the SPL when Arsenal target Naismith converted from the spot in injury time.
The 19-year-old will travel to north London to meet Gunners manager Arsene Wenger today for a short trial.
Killies chairman Michael Johnston said: “Steven is going down there for Arsenal to have a look at him in training and have some discussions with Arsene Wenger.
“He will be going down for tomorrow and Tuesday, but we have reached no agreement with Arsenal and no figure has been discussed. Apparently, this is how Arsenal and Arsene Wenger work — he likes to meet players he is interested in training.”
