Quinn’s double Spurs bid foiled

SUNDERLAND manager Niall Quinn has been thwarted in a bid to land Tottenham duo Calum Davenport and Andy Reid.

Quinn admires winger Reid, 24, and 23-year-old centre-back Davenport.

“We enquired about a couple of players at Spurs, but there was nothing doing. Spurs rejected all our advances,” Quinn told the club’s official website.
