Izzet: O’Neill the man to bring back Villa glory days

MARTIN O’Neill has been tipped to restore Aston Villa to former glories if he replaces David O’Leary as manager by former Leicester midfielder Muzzy Izzet.

Izzet was one of O’Neill’s first signings when he took charge of the Foxes in the mid-1990s and led them to the most successful period in their history.

Leicester enjoyed four successive top 10 Premiership finishes and won the League Cup twice before O’Neill headed north of the border and experienced even bigger success with Celtic.
