Werder Bremen say Klose isn’t for sale
The 28-year-old has found himself in the limelight with his four goals in three games helping hosts Germany reach the knockout stages of the World Cup.
Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on the striker, but Allofs said: “Miroslav Klose is not for sale, we are not giving him away.”
Klose still has a contract with last season’s Bundesliga runners-up until 2008 and has previously stated he intends to fulfil it.
His agent Alexander Schutt admits he expects to receive plenty of offers, although he told Kicker magazine “nothing is definite”.
Brazil playmaker Kaka has pledged his future to AC Milan by agreeing a contract extension with the Italian giants.
Kaka, whose previous deal ran until 2009, has penned a new contract that is set to keep him at the San Siro until 2011.
The news will come as a major boost to Milan, who recently lost star striker Andriy Shevchenko to Chelsea, and should also end reported interest from Real Madrid in the 24-year-old Brazil ace.
Benfica president Luis Vieira has given Portugal winger Simao the green light to leave the club this summer.
Simao has been a target of Liverpool for the past two years, with Benfica having turned down an £8m offer from the Reds club last summer.
Vieira said in the Portuguese sports newspaper Record: “We have already received several offers for other Benfica players, but only one of our players will be able to leave the club and that is Simao.”
Meanwhile, Benfica have signed Costas Katsouranis from AEK Athens.
