Lansdowne is on schedule, says FAI executive

JOHN DELANEY has insisted that the redevelopment of Lansdowne Road is on-time, following a weekend report that a request for further information (RFI) had been placed by the Dublin City Council.

The RFI is common procedure in modern planning applications although it is thought that some members of the DCC, by endeavouring to place No.70 Lansdowne Road on the register of Protected Structures, will slow the process.

No.70 is to be demolished under the current plans, and the Lansdowne Road Development committee have responded to the RFI.

“As far as we’re concerned we’ve answered the request for further information asked of us and we’ve responded to this,” said the FAI Chief Executive. “It is important that No.70 is available to us for egress purposes.

“The hope is that we get a positive reply from the planning authority within the next six weeks.

“We’re on time as things stand for work to commence in the first quarter of next year.”
