Klos to miss start of season after accident

RANGERS goalkeeper Stefan Klos has been ruled out for up to four months after damaging his shoulder in a biking accident.

The 34-year-old sustained ligament damage in the incident which happened in Switzerland at the weekend.

The German underwent surgery in his home country and has now returned to Glasgow where he will begin his return to fitness under the watchful of the Ibrox medical staff.

As a consequence, Klos will be forced to start the season under new manager Paul Le Guen from the sidelines.

The accident caps a disappointing season for the player, who lost his place to Ronald Waterreus after suffering knee ligament damage in January 2005. The former Borussia Dortmund keeper had been an automatic selection for both Dick Advocaat and Alex McLeish, since joining the club in December 1998.
