Di Stefano unsure about Henry

REAL MADRID honorary president Alfredo Di Stefano has questioned the wisdom of signing Thierry Henry after revealing the Spanish giants turned down the chance to buy him eight years ago.

Henry has been linked with a move away from Highbury this summer with Barcelona and Real Madrid both apparently keen to acquire the services of the France international.

But the legendary Di Stefano revealed that Madrid already turned down the opportunity to sign Henry back in 1998 before the Frenchman moved to Juventus from Monaco.

“We already had him eight years ago and they (club executives) didn’t want him,” said Di Stefano.

“Is he going to join us now that he is eight years older?”
