Murray: Quinn can turn Cats around

Quinn, backed by a four-man Irish consortium, is expected to confirm in the next 24 hours that they have agreed a £16 million (€23m) deal to buy out majority shareholder Murray, who has been the target of angry fans during Sunderland’s miserable slide to relegation.

Ex-Republic of Ireland striker Quinn, who earned cult status in a six-year stint with Sunderland, is to be Murray’s guest at the Stadium of Light tonight for the visit of Arsenal, another of his former clubs.
