McCarthy named Nationwide Manager of Month

FORMER Irish boss Mick McCarthy has been named as the Nationwide Manager of the Month for March.

McCarthy has guided Sunderland to 17 points from seven Nationwide League encounters and a place in the last four of the FA Cup. They play Millwall on Sunday at Old Trafford for a place in the final.

McCarthy said: “We’re getting nearer the top two and they’ll be looking over their shoulders a bit now.
