NEWCASTLE goalkeeper Shay Given intends to wait until next summer before deciding whether his long-term future belongs at St James’ Park.

The 29-year-old has been at Newcastle since 1997 and insists he is “in no mad rush” to extend his current contract, which expires at the end of the 2006/7 season.

Given said: “I have two years left on my deal and, so far, the club have not offered me a new one. We will have to see where this season takes us and I will look at the situation again.
