O’Shea makes United comeback

JOHN O’SHEA made his comeback from fractured ribs in Manchester United’s reserves match against Everton last night.

The Republic of Ieland international has been out since picking up the injury in the Premiership win over Liverpool on January 22.

Barring a further setback O’Shea will be back in contention for a place in United’s Carling Cup final squad this weekend.

His return could not be better timed - given the midfield injury crisis which has enveloped Alex Ferguson’s squad, with both Alan Smith and Paul Scholes now missing for the remainder of the season.
