Benitez urges players to follow Gerrard’s example

LIVERPOOL manager Rafael Benitez, preparing for the daunting prospect of facing Barclays Premiership leaders Chelsea on Saturday, has hailed the tremendous example set by his captain Steven Gerrard.

A relieved Benitez saw another priceless three points pocketed on Tuesday and departed from his normal stance by praising an individual player - Gerrard.

“Steven was outstanding, it is important for us that he plays well because he is the captain,” he said.
