Ferguson ready to sign new deal

MANCHESTER UNITED chief executive Peter Kenyon has warned their Premier League rivals’ worst fears are about to come true — Alex Ferguson is likely to sign a new Old Trafford contract.

While there have been no formal talks between the pair over an extension to Ferguson’s 17-year stint as Red Devils’ chief, it seems only a matter of time before the fiery Scot agrees to sign a new deal.

Ferguson has looked fit and eager for more success and spent his summer reshaping his championship-winning squad after turning his back on retirement 18 months ago.
