McIlroy hanging on to his Hatters
County are bottom of League One with only 10 points from their 18 games and are eight points from safety. They have not won in five league matches and most recently lost 3-1 at Doncaster at the weekend.
Former Northern Ireland boss McIlroy replaced Carlton Palmer at Edgeley Park in October last year and pulled County clear of relegation but his side have only won two league games all season.
But a statement from Taylor said: “The newspapers/radio and TV stations running the story Sammy McIlroy has been sacked are incorrect. The board are concerned with the current position of Stockport County and are addressing it with the management team.”
