Bubbly underlines Wise's wily ways

DENNIS WISE was never likely to be a textbook manager but the pink champagne served to his Millwall players to soothe nerves ahead of their FA Cup semi-final win only served to underline the point.

It was a trick he picked up from Gianluca Vialli, who toasted his own arrival as player-manager at Chelsea before a Coca-Cola Cup semi-final in the same way.

However, while Vialli eventually struggled to cross the perilous divide between dressing room and dug-out, 37-year-old Wise is already being tipped to make it one day as a top-flight manager.
