Ferguson ban extended by four games

EVERTON striker Duncan Ferguson has been suspended for an additional four matches and fined £5,000 (€7,330) by the Football Association.

Ferguson ban extended by four games

The FA charged Ferguson following an incident involving Wigan’s Pascal Chimbonda during the Premier League match on January 31.

It occurred immediately after another incident involving Wigan’s Paul Scharner for which Ferguson was sent off.

The four-match suspension is in addition to the three-match ban Ferguson is currently serving for the sending-off.

The 34-year-old will not be available until the visit of Sunderland on April 1.

It is broken down into three matches for violent conduct, with a further match suspension in line with rules which categorise the proven charge as effectively his second sending-off of the season.
