MANCHESTER UNITED fans have called on the club’s major shareholders to come clean as Alex Ferguson vowed not to let the “off-field nonsense” affect his management.

There has been widespread dismay among Reds supporters over the news that John Magnier and JP McManus have increased their investment in United by £20m to take their overall shareholding through the Cubic Expression Group to 28.89 per cent.

The fans’ demand comes as it was announced that US-based multi-millionaire Malcolm Glazer, a big supporter of Ferguson, has increased his stake in the club by two per cent to 16.3 per cent, consolidating his position as the second biggest shareholder.
