Award treble for Chelsea

CHELSEA have made a clean sweep of the Premiership awards for January, with the efforts of Jose Mourinho, John Terry and Petr Cech all recognised.

Mourinho collects the manager of the month award after the Blues reeled off four straight wins. Terry won the player of the month award while Cech received a special merit award for keeping a record 10 Premiership clean sheets in a row.

Nic Gault, from the Barclays Awards Panel, said: “Chelsea have had a blistering start to 2005, with José Mourinho’s tactical sharpness, John Terry’s inspirational presence and the record-breaking Petr Cech. They now look favourites to scoop the Premiership.”
