Swiss boss tips Ireland to win, despite cool reception
“I can’t imagine the Faroes will hold out against Ireland,” Kuhn said.
“But there are no ‘little’ teams in football any more and you never know what could happen.”
Several Swiss players complained about the weather in Toftir after their 3-1 win on Saturday.
“I’ll never visit the Faroes again,” vowed goalkeeper Pascal Zuberbuhler, who confessed he was traumatised by the cold, windy conditions.
“I’m going to spend 10 days in Oman to banish these memories,” Zuberbuhler added.
“Playing in the Faroes is like visiting the moon,” said defender Ludovic Magnin.
He added: “I’m not daft, I prefer eating squid than whale!”
Weather conditions in Torshavn tomorrow night are forecast to be cool (50F), with south-westerly winds of up to 20mph as Ireland prepare to take to the field.
