Robert happy to be ‘wanted’

LAURENT ROBERT last night revealed Portsmouth won the battle for his signature because fellow Frenchman Alain Perrin had made him feel “really wanted” at Fratton Park.

Robert happy to be ‘wanted’

The 30-year-old winger cost Newcastle £9.5million from Paris Saint Germain in 2001 but left for around £2million because of his turbulent relationship with Magpies boss Graeme Souness.

By contrast Pompey boss, Perrin believes he has a “good link” with Robert and persuaded him to sign a three-year deal worth around £25,000 a week.
