Bruce criticises Savage bid

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has branded Everton's bid for midfielder Robbie Savage as "laughable and derisory".

He stated that he feels "badly let down" by the Wales international's reluctance to sign a new deal at St Andrews, however.

Everton's offer is believed to be £2.5million but the deal involves a down payment of £1million with the rest of the fee spread over the next four years.

"The opening bid is laughable," Bruce said.

"We shook hands on a deal with Robbie six to eight weeks ago," said Bruce.

"I feel badly let down by the whole situation. Of course he is important but Everton must meet our valuation and the situation hasn't changed."
