Cork City sign defender

CORK CITY yesterday signed a 20-year-old defender from Peterborough United until the end of the season.

Daniel Murray was recommended to the club by John O’Flynn, a Cobh-born centre-forward who has been a sensation since he joined Cork at the start of the season. O’Flynn has been with Peterborough for the past three seasons.

Murray is not eligible to play for Cork in Friday’s FAI Cup semi-final against Derry City at Turner’s Cross (7.45 pm).

Cork reported a keen response to ticket sales for the match. Club officials yesterday advised season-ticket holders that they could not guarantee their regular seats after 7pm.
