Robson’s challenge

BOBBY ROBSON has challenged his Newcastle side to make Chelsea and Liverpool slug it out for their Champions League dreams.

Robson’s challenge

Newcastle go into today’s penultimate game at home to Birmingham knowing four points from their last two matches will be enough to clinch a second successive top-four finish, although a win and a defeat today for either of their closest challengers will be enough. However, Robson is demanding two wins.

“What we have, we hold, it’s as simple as that,” he said. “We’re one point ahead, we can control it. It’s up to us. They can’t catch us if we win two matches”.
