N’Zogbia is cleared to play for Newcastle
The Magpies were delighted to have got their hands on one of the most promising talents in French football last season but found themselves locked in a battle with his club Le Havre, who insisted he was still contracted to them.
Newcastle have been told they must pay training compensation - believed to be in the region of €87,5000 - but that the player is now free to be registered. A club spokesman said: “Newcastle United today received notification from FIFA in the case of Charles N’Zogbia. The outcome is that the player is entitled to be registered for Newcastle United and that he can resume playing with immediate effect.
