O’Neill reminds Rangers that the title race is far from over

The Hoops could only draw 2-2 at Dundee, while the Light Blues edged a 3-2 win over Hearts in a thrilling game at Ibrox.

Steve Lovell had opened the scoring for Dundee at Dens Park in the 35th minute before goals from Henri Camara and John Hartson gave the Parkhead club a 2-1 lead.

But, with 14 minutes remaining, Lovell produced a sublime curling chip after capitalising on a mix-up between defender Bobo Balde and goalkeeper Magnus Hedman to earn a point for the Dark Blues.O’Neill said: “Our efforts to get back into the game were absolutely terrific. Then, when we conceded the second goal, it was a case of ‘drive forward’ and there is always the possibility of leaving gaps. In terms of effort, I cannot fault the team and we are still in the championship race.”

Hartson and Lovell also had a goal each chalked off but the Celtic boss shrugged off the disappointment of seeing the Wales international’s effort disallowed.

Dundee moved off the foot of the SPL but manager Jim Duffy was disappointed not to take the three points especially after Lovell was denied a hat-trick halfway through the second period for having a foot up on Celtic defender Bobo Balde.
