D’Urso faces FA charges for error

D’Urso failed to send off Blackburn’s Barry Ferguson after twice booking him during Rovers’ Premiership game at Southampton on Saturday.

D’Urso has acknowledged his error in his match report and a sending off will now be included on Ferguson’s disciplinary record. He will serve a one-match suspension with immediate effect.

Blackburn lost 3-2 after Southampton were given a controversial last-minute penalty.

Ferguson was shown a yellow card for protesting the decision, but was not sent off, despite being booked for an earlier foul.

Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers have had their latest bid for Tromso winger Morten Gamst Pedersen turned down by the Norwegian club.

Rovers boss Graeme Souness revealed before the weekend he was still interested in acquiring the services of the 22-year-old.
