TOTTENHAM coach Martin Jol admitted the height of Tottenham’s ambition this season is a top-10 finish after they were sent crashing out of the Carling Cup by Liverpool in midweek.

Jol viewed the Carling Cup as Tottenham’s best route into Europe and he must now work hard to lift the players’ spirits ahead of a crucial Barclays Premiership trip to Blackburn.

Tottenham beat Middlesbrough last weekend to end a run of six defeats but they are just three points better off than Blackburn and only four outside the relegation zone.
