Wolves thrilled with glamour tie

WOLVES chief executive Jez Moxey believes his club are on to a winner whoever they face in the FA Cup fourth round.

Moxey's club will most likely take on Manchester United in a Molineux glamour tie but should the cup throw up yet another shock and Burton beat the Red Devils in a replay, all eyes will be on the Black Country for a different reason.

"It's going to be a fabulous day if Manchester United come or if Burton Albion come," Moxey said.

"Having Burton here will be a local derby which will be great and, of course, the last time we played Manchester United at Molineux we beat them (in the Premiership in January 2004). So we're really pleased with that draw."

Burton captain Darren Stride joked: "It is a great draw for Manchester United and Wolves. We'll be lucky to get there but we'll try our hardest. If we get there it will be another great draw for us."

Nuneaton hero Gez Murphy is dreaming of taking a team featuring some "Coventry rejects" to face the Sky Blues at the Ricoh Arena. Rob Oddy, Mark Noon and David Blenkinsopp were all released by the Skyblues.

Murphy scored a last-minute penalty as the Conference North side held Middlesbrough 1-1 at Manor Park and is excited by the prospect of taking on Coventry.

"I said before the draw was made that Coventry at the Ricoh would be a dream come true, just because of all the links we've got with the club," he said.

"We've got a few of their so-called Coventry rejects gracing the club, so it would be good to go back. It's always going to be a problem going to the Riverside and getting a result, but we have a massive incentive to do that now."

The draw produced three guaranteed all-Premiership ties, and the pick of them sees holders Arsenal travelling to Bolton whom the Gunners beat en route to the final last season.

Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce said: "The most important thing you want is a home draw. We've got that, and against Arsenal it makes it a very big game and one we are very much looking forward to. We lost to them in the quarter-finals last year. But our past record against them has been exceptionally good in the league.

"We have beaten them twice here at the Reebok, and our fans will relish the chance to do it in the FA Cup. It's not that long ago we managed to beat them 2-0 here, and that might be on their minds."

The other top-flight meetings are Portsmouth at home to Liverpool and West Ham against Blackburn at Upton Park.

Leyton Orient's reward for upsetting the odds against Fulham is an away draw against another top-flight club from the capital, with Charlton their destination in round four.

O's boss Martin Ling said: "We asked for a Premiership club, a London Premiership club, and that's what we got. It's a money-maker for us and a really good tie. The players are delighted. They will go there and give it a really good go."

Cheltenham and Chester will replay for the right to host Newcastle.

Robins boss John Ward said: "We have two league games before the replay against Chester to attract our attention at the minute, but the incentive is fantastic."

Tamworth, who held Stoke to a goalless draw at the Britannia Stadium, could face Barnsley or Walsall in the fourth round.

Chelsea are away to either Millwall or Everton, and there is the prospect of midlands rivals West Brom and Birmingham meeting at The Hawthorns depending on the outcome of their replays against Reading and Torquay respectively.

Port Vale have a trip to Villa Park to look forward to, while League One Brentford host Premiership strugglers Sunderland.

Man City were handed another home tie, this time against Wigan or Leeds.

Colchester, who eliminated Sheffield United in the third round, have the chance to claim another Championship scalp when Derby visit Layer Road.

Leicester's reward for defeating Tottenham is a home tie against Southampton, while Preston face Crystal Palace in another all-Championship clash.
