Porto coach turned down Spurs approach
Mourinho admitted he spoke with a Spurs representative before his side's Champions League clash with Marseille in October but told the Londoners he was not prepared to leave Portugal until the summer.
He said: "We were in Marseille and someone accredited to Tottenham spoke with me about moving to England.
"I told him if it was a proposition for next season then we could talk to see what could happen.
"But to play against Marseille and then start immediately at Spurs, I wouldn't even listen."
Mourinho has attracted interest following his treble-winning exploits with the Portuguese champions last season.
Porto landed the Super Liga title, Portuguese Cup and beat Celtic 3-2 in the UEFA Cup final in Seville to boost the profile of the man who learned his trade as an assistant to Bobby Robson.
