A first-half strike from Yusuf Simsek was enough to earn the hosts a win at the Kamil Ocak stadium in Gaziantep.

Roma coach Fabio Capello went into the game without Italy international strikers Francesco Totti, Antonio Cassano and Vincenzo Montello, and with Marco Delvecchio and John Carew drafted in up front.
