Hyypia aiming to extend stay at the Kop

LIVERPOOL’S Finnish international defender Sami Hyypia said he would like to prolong his five-year stay with the English Premiership club.

Hyypia, 30, lost the club captaincy to England midfielder Steven Gerrard this season but remains a central pillar of the Liverpool defence.

“If they want me to stay, I would have no problem in signing another contract,” said Hyypia.
