Kluivert may have played last game for Holland

DUTCH striker Patrick Kluivert believes his international career could be over.

Kluivert, who has scored 40 times in 79 games for the Netherlands but has been overlooked since Euro 2004, said he was unconcerned about not being picked by new coach Marco van Basten.

“Holland is not important for me. It does not interest me at the moment.

“All I care about is doing well for Newcastle. I am desperate to stay because I’m enjoying my football and I am very happy on and off the pitch.

“To be honest, if I was called up I do not think that I would go.”

Kluivert also expressed frustration that his time with Newcastle has been blighted by injury.

“It has been very frustrating. I keep finding some form and then I pick up an injury, which keeps me out for a couple of matches.”
