ARSENE WENGER insisted he will ignore Alex Ferguson’s attempts to unsettle his side as he responded to his mind-games by unashamedly setting his sights on winning the treble.

Wenger has been untroubled by Ferguson’s bid to raise the stakes in the title race by accusing Arsenal of showing an “over-confidence” that could return to haunt them. Indeed, by insisting that not even winning the Champions League would fulfil all of his dreams, his response was to be even more outwardly confident than ever.

“I don’t know what he means. I tell my players to be confident in their ability but it doesn’t mean they’re arrogant or flashy,” said Wenger ahead of his side’s FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea today.
