Juve cling to Nedved hope

JUVENTUS coach Fabio Capello has refused to rule Czech Republic midfielder Pavel Nedved out of next week’s crunch Champions League clash away to Real Madrid.

Nedved, 32, has not played since injuring his left knee on January 23.

Asked if Nedved would be fit to face the Spanish giants in the first leg, Capello replied: “Let’s see how he is on Sunday.”

Serie A leaders Juventus are already without flu-stricken French striker David Trezeguet for today’s league match away to Messina.

Nedved, the 2003 European Footballer of the Year, suffered a serious injury to his right knee during the Czechs’ Euro 2004 semi-final defeat to Greece.
