Cottagers boss remains in hospital

FULHAM boss Chris Coleman is expected to remain in hospital while his players take on Manchester United today – but the manager picked the team from his sickbed.

Coleman is spending his fourth night in hospital after waking up on Tuesday with a virus doctors fear could target his injured right leg.

The Welshman, 33, shattered his leg in a car crash in 2001 that ended his playing career.

Medics have Coleman on an antibiotic for three days and hope to prevent the ailment spreading to his right leg.

The boss fought a 19-month battle to recover his fitness and recently had surgery which left him on crutches.

Coleman was hit so hard by the virus that he was asleep during his team’s 3-0 FA Cup victory against West Ham on Tuesday night, for which assistant coach Steve Kean assumed managerial duties.
