D’Urso dropped for United tie

THE Premier League have replaced referee Andy D’Urso for next Monday’s match between Manchester United and Everton.

Dermot Gallagher will take over at Old Trafford as his Essex colleague faces an FA charge.

D’Urso yellow-carded Blackburn midfielder Barry Ferguson twice in the defeat by Southampton but failed to send him off.

Although the official mentioned his mistake in his report the FA have charged him with “less than proficiently applying the laws of the game”.

It is understood D’Urso has been replaced to take him out of the media spotlight.
