Spurs sign Naybet in bid to bolster defence

TOTTENHAM have signed Moroccan international Noureddine Naybet and there could be another arrival at White Hart Lane before the transfer window closes.

Naybet arrived from Spanish giants Deportivo La Coruna for around £700,000 and the deal is subject to a work permit.

And Spurs have emerged as favourites to land England international Owen Hargreaves from Bayern Munich.

Centre-back Naybet has been brought into add experience to a young Spurs defence that lost Stephen Carr to Newcastle earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace completed a double signing yesterday. Hungarian international goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly put pen to paper after weeks of wrangling over his personal terms, and Fitz Hall became the second new recruit at Selhurst Park when he completed a £1.5 million move from Southampton.
