Hughes hit again as Todd charged

BLACKBURN boss Mark Hughes suffered more disciplinary misery yesterday when captain Andy Todd was charged with violent conduct by the Football Association.

Todd was involved in an off-the-ball altercation with Spurs’ Andy Reid during the goalless draw at Ewood Park on Wednesday night which left the Republic of Ireland midfielder writhing on the ground.

Referee Dermot Gallagher confirmed in his match report that neither he nor his assistants witnessed the incident, leaving the governing body to charge Todd under the FA’s new fast-tracking procedure.
