Veron is keen to extend stay at Inter

JUAN Sebastian Veron insists he wants to stay at Internazionale but accepts he may be used as bait in Chelsea’s bid to lure Adriano to Stamford Bridge.

Veron has spent this season on loan from Chelsea and wants to remain at the San Siro when his temporary deal expires in the summer. He knows though that the situation is out of his hands. “I think I will remain at Inter,” he said.

“But if (Chelsea owner Roman) Abramovich intends to take me back to Chelsea there is nothing I can do about it. I can’t exactly shoot him.”

Adriano is a reported target of Chelsea and Veron knows a bid which could affect his own future may be in the offing. The Argentinian added: “I really don’t know what the situation is at the moment.

“It’s clear that if Chelsea make a big offer certain players would be included in the deal.”

Veron knows Adriano will be much sought after in the coming months. “I wouldn’t be surprised if teams came in for him,” he said.
