Keane is adamant he'll quit

REPUBLIC of Ireland midfielder Roy Keane still intends to end his career in 18 months’ time - despite his recent impressive form for club and country.

Keane yesterday revealed he is not looking to extend his stay at Old Trafford beyond 2006, meaning he could end his career at the World Cup in Germany, four years after he memorably walked out on Mick McCarthy’s squad. The 33-year-old is ready to disregard the evidence of the past four weeks and wreck the hopes of his Manchester United manager by ending his phenomenal career at the end of next season.

Seven days after Alex Ferguson claimed Keane’s immense contribution to the Old Trafford cause would still be being talked about in 500 years time, his captain re-stated his intention to call time on his playing days when his current contract expires in 2006.
