Healy confident of quick return

NORTHERN IRELAND striker David Healy is adamant he will be fit to face Germany to mark the Irish FA’s 125th anniversary in June.

Healy left Vicarage Road on crutches on Saturday after limping out of Leeds’ 2-1 win with an ankle injury and there remains the prospect he may miss their last four matches of the season.

Due to the severity of the bruising, Healy will have to wait until later this week to undergo a scan which will determine the extent of the injury, with fears he may have ankle ligament damage.

But the 25-year-old is confident he will see out the season with United, before then taking on the Germans in a friendly at Windsor Park in Belfast on June 4.

Leeds skipper Paul Butler, meanwhile, has been told to take another week off before a return to action after yesterday visiting a consultant neurosurgeon.
