Fergie says Keane could be man to succeed him

ROY KEANE is being groomed for management and could be the man to succeed Alex Ferguson.

Keane is currently collecting the credentials needed to make the transition from player to coach, with a distinct possibility that the midfielder’s playing days will end just as Ferguson decides to step into the background at Old Trafford. Would United turn to someone without proven top level experience when the club’s most successful manager hands over his post?

That remains to be seen, but the Scot is convinced Keane will make it to the top as a coach. “That’s a bit of a way ahead but if Roy wants to stay in the game, he will do well at it because he has great abilities. He is an intelligent guy and he’ll be a good coach.
