ALEX FERGUSON is predicting a late-season scoring spree from Ruud van Nistelrooy after the prolific striker finally broke his four-month scoring drought.

Van Nistelrooy bagged the second goal in Holland’s 2-0 World Cup win over Armenia on Wednesday, the first time he has found the net since scoring in the 3-0 Premiership win at West Brom in November.

Most of the period in between, the 28-year-old has spent battling to overcome an Achilles injury but in six Man United games since his return, van Nistelrooy has looked a shadow of the striker who has terrorised defences at home and abroad over the past four seasons.
