LIVERPOOL chief executive Rick Parry says he is confident Steven Gerrard will stay at the club whatever the outcome of Anfield’s latest bout of boardroom politics.

Chairman David Moores vowed to consider his future this week during a stormy annual general meeting in which it was revealed that at least two other interested parties were preparing bids for the club.

Gerrard, who was the subject of serious interest from a number of clubs including Chelsea in the summer, stated that Moores had been one of the biggest influences behind his decision to stay.
