Rooney scotches Chelsea rumours

WAYNE Rooney has denied rumours linking him with a huge transfer to Chelsea, and vowed to help Everton win a place in Europe.

It emerged last month that Chelsea’s Russian owner, Roman Abramovich was ready to smash the British transfer record with a stg£50million bid, to bring Rooney to Stamford Bridge.

The speculation about a possible bid was crushed by Everton at the time, and the hottest property in English football, in a rare comment to the media, insisted he wanted to remain with the club he has supported since he was a toddler.
